Google Search Console

Connect GSC to unlock keyword prioritisation from real search data and automatic rank-decay detection.

Google Search Console is the single most valuable data source you can connect to IndexPine. Without it, keyword selection is based on competitive analysis alone. With it, IndexPine can see exactly which queries your site is already appearing for, which pages are losing rankings, and which keywords are one good article away from reaching page one.

What IndexPine does with your GSC data

  • Rank decay detection — when you run a Self-Healing audit, IndexPine compares a recent ~7-day window against an earlier ~4-week window of your real Search Analytics data. A page that dropped 4+ positions, or fell off page 1 entirely, is flagged as decayed and eligible for an in-place refresh.
  • Keyword topical mode — connecting GSC switches article topic selection into a mode aimed at page-1/page-2 striking-distance style targets, in addition to whatever keywords you're tracking manually.
Coming later: per-query keyword import
Automatically importing your actual top Search Console queries — impressions, clicks, and exact positions per keyword — to drive topic selection directly is on the roadmap but not implemented yet. Today, GSC connection changes the article-selection strategy; it doesn't yet pull in live query-level data for that purpose. Rank decay detection (above) is the one place that queries real Search Analytics data today.

How to connect

  1. In your IndexPine dashboard, go to Settings > Google Search Console.
  2. Click "Sign in with Google" and pick the verified property that matches your site — this step lists your properties but only grants a short-lived session.
  3. Click "Confirm Connection". This continues to Google's consent screen for durable, offline access — approve it there.
  4. You're redirected back to your dashboard once Google confirms the connection; GSC now shows as connected for this site.
Read-only access
IndexPine requests only the Search Console read permission (webmasters.readonly). It cannot modify your GSC property, remove URLs from indexing, or change any settings in your Google account.

Data freshness

Google Search Console data typically has a 48–72 hour delay before it reflects real-world search activity on top of that. IndexPine queries GSC live, on demand, each time you run a Self-Healing audit — there is no separate background sync schedule, so the data you see is exactly as fresh as Search Console itself has it at the moment you click "Run Self-Healing Audit".

If your site does not have a GSC property yet

Set one up first at search.google.com/search-console. The simplest verification method is DNS TXT record verification if you have access to your domain registrar. Google typically confirms DNS verification within a few minutes. Once verified, it takes 3–7 days for GSC to accumulate enough data to be useful, but you can connect IndexPine as soon as the property is verified.
